In the 3 years of being trained by Fiona Foy, she has taken my Irish Sports Horse, with no experience, and me as a basic, everyday
rider that hunted, team-chased, and did a small amount of unaffiliated competition, to a medium level partnership, currently training
at Advanced Medium level. I strongly believe that without Fiona’s motivation, clear direction and thoughtful appraisal of both
Paddy and I, we wouldn’t have achieved the 170 BD points and the strong partnership we now have.
As a full time sales manager,
my time training is limited, and Fiona ensures that I have exercises and direction that is effective and varied, enabling us to progress
through the levels with a great deal of enjoyment and fun. Her training style has enabled me to learn how to ride, to manage
my nerves, and how to ensure Paddy is in tip top mental condition for those all important days of lessons and competition, without
her I wouldn’t have achieved the pleasures of seeing my Irish boy grow into a beautiful dressage horse. Under Fiona’s careful
supervision and encouragement, Paddy and I have qualified for every regional final bar one, including qualifying for the Restricted
Novice and Elementary Winter Championships, and in addition, Fiona introduced us to Dressage to Music where her choreography
and choice of music enabled us to qualify for the Regional’s in our second music competition ever.
I find Fiona’s teaching motivational
and inspirational, achievable and rewarding, and above all, a great deal of fun and pleasure.
